Decorate Kentucky Derby/Tea Party Hats with Kids!
If you want an easy Derby activity for kids, try grabbing some cheap spring hats, artificial flowers, and double-sided foam tape squares from the Dollar Tree! You can also print some Derby clip art (I just used regular printer paper and regret not using something more durable like card stock). Let the kids stick flowers on the hats with the double-sided tape squares. These are hats we made over a year ago in 2022 and 2021, and as you can see, we’ve only lost a few flowers along the way! Is it permanent? Of course not, but it held up pretty well, and they can really do the craft themselves! (If you can’t find this kind of hat, you could also get a paper hat from the birthday section and just glue clipart of horses and Derby things to it–especially with a toddler!)
